Dupa primul experiment, in anul 1902, troleibuzele au fost introduse in Copenhaga in anul 1938, circuland pana in anul 1968. In Hellerup troleibuzele au circulat intre anii 1927 si 1971.

Intre anii 1993 si 1998 au fost testate doua troleibuze (duobuze) Mercedes O 405 GTD.
