Transportul cu tramvaie in Helsinki este efectuat de Helsinki City Transport cu aprox. 125 de tramvaie.

Exista 12 linii in exploatare din care 10 sunt principale si 2 secundare. Liniile principale sunt: 1, 3B, 3T, 4, 6, 7A, 7B, 8, 9 si 10; iar cele secundare: 1A (extindere a liniei 1 la ore de varf) si 4T (doar cateva curse pentru legaturi la ferryboat).

In mod uzual exista 3 tipuri de tramvaie folosite:
- Valmet I+ (31-70) si II+ (71-112) - construite intre 1973 si 1987 in Finlanda
- MLNRV - provenite din Valmet II+ carora li s-a adaugat o sectiune low-floor in mijloc dupa 2006 (19 bucati in intervalul 76-112)
- Variotram (201-240) - construite intre 1998 si 2003 in Germania

Nu am avut timp prea mult la dispozitie sa ma plimb cu tramvaiele. Am reusit sa parcurg doua trasee: 6 si 9.

M-au intrigat statiile, prea apropiate una de cealalta.

Tramvaiele circula pe stradute inguste, cu curbe stranse, abordate lin de Variotram-e.
