Trenurile suburbane - S-Bahn

Acest sistem rapid de tranzit este oprerat de S-Bahn Berlin GmbH, o subsidiara a Deutsche Bahn. Sistemul este format din 15 linii, permitand legatura cu reteaua de metrou berlinez.
Traversarea Berlinului de rutele S-Bahn se face prin 3 cai: linia suspendata centrala est-vest: Stadtbahn, o linie subterana nord-sud: Nord-Sud Bahn, si linia suspendata circulara: Ringbahn.

Cele 15 linii sunt urmatoarele:
S1 Oranienburg - Nord-Sud-Bahn - Wannsee
S2 Bernau - Nord-Sud-Bahn - Blankenfelde
S25 Hennigsdorf - Nord-Sud-Bahn - Teltow Stadt
S3 Ostbahnhof - Erkner
S41 Sudkreuz - Ringbahn - Sudkreuz (in sensul acelor de ceas)
S42 Sudkreuz - Ringbahn - Sudkreuz (in sens contrar acelor de ceas)
S45 Aeroport Berlin-Schonefeld - Ringbahn - Hermannstrasse
S46 Konigs Wusterhausen - Ringbahn - Westend
S47 Spindlersfeld - Ringbahn - Sudkreuz (anumite curse pana la Bundesplatz)
S5 Strausberg Nord - Stadtbahn - Westkreuz
S7 Ahrensfelde - Stadtbahn - Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (legatura la fiecare 10 min intre Berlin si Potsdam)
S75 Wartenberg - Stadtbahn - Spandau
S8 Hohen Neuendorf - Ringbahn - Grunau (anumite curse pana la Zeuthen)
S85 Waidmannslust - Ringbahn - Schoneweide (anumite curse pana la Grunau)
S9 Spandau - Stadtbahn - Aeroport Berlin-Schonefeld

Liniile S-Bahn functioneaza de luni pana vineri intre orele 04:00 si 01:00, sambata intre 05:00 si 01:00, iar duminica intre 06:30 si 01:00. Insa majoritatea liniilor functioneaza pe trasee normale (S1, S2, S25, S41, S42, S75) sau restranse si pe perioada noptii sambata si duminica.

Urmatoarele doua imagini sunt preluate de pe site-ul S-Bahn Berlin Gmbh.

In prima se observa cele trei tipuri de trenuri folosite, de la stanga la drepta seriile 485, 480 si 481.
In a doua un detaliu pe cel mai nou si modern tren S-Bahn berlinez: seria 481.

Seria 485 - fabricata din 1980 de LEW si AEG
Seria 480 - fabricata din 1987 de Waggon-Union si Siemens
Seria 481 - fabricata din 1996 de AEG si DWA

Daca ai fost la Berlin si te-ai plimbat cu S-Bahn-ul, ai remarcat ca statiile spre periferie au o arhitectura specifica inceputului de secol 20? Si inca un detaliu interesant, toata tablaria din aceste statii e fixata cu nituri; tehnica performanta de sudura din zilele noastre a fost inventata in anii '30 tot in Germania in timpul lui Hitler, in scopul de a produce vapoare mai mari si mai... usoare; tratatul de pace de la Versailles din 1919 interzicea Germaniei sa produca sau sa posede vapoare mai grele de x tone. Dar, terminand paranteza, nu putem sa nu ramanem cu un gust amar vazand cat de inapoiati suntem noi aici in Romania, incercand sa facem lucruri pe care nemtii le au de 100 de ani :?
