In 18 decembrie 1998 erau date in folosinta traseele Zentrum - Olympischesdorf (O) si Zentrum - Rehgasse (R). Ultima extensie a retelei de troleibuze a avut loc in anul 2001, intre Technik si Technik West.

Asadar, este vorba de doua trasee, denumite O si respectiv R. Traseul O are 3 extensii, pe care o sa le figurez in culori diferite.

Troleibuzele sint de tipul Graf & Stift GS GE 152 M 18.

801 - 816 an de fabricatie: 1988
817 - 826 an de fabricatie: 1992

In 25 februarie 2007 transportul public cu troleibuze a fost sistat. Parte din troleibuze au fost vindute municipalitatilor din Brasov, Sofia si Vologda.

Mentionez ca primul sistem de transport cu troleibuze in Innsbruck a fost functional intre 8 aprilie 1944 si 29 februarie 1976.

Am incercat sa aflu motivele pentru care se renunta, pentru a doua oara, in acelasi fatidic februarie, la troleibuze. Pur si simplu, directorului IVB nu-i plac troleibuzele. Oare i-a placut mita Daimler? O decizie gresita, inexplicabila pt. un oras austriac!

Se prevede:

-introducerea traseului denumit tot "O", deservit de tramvaie, pe ruta: Allerheiligen/Technik West - Olympisches Dorf;
-traseul tramvaiului 3 va fi extins pina la Klinik si respectiv pina la Hotting West. Partea "estica" a fostului traseu de troleibuz "R" va fi deservita de catre autobuze.

Exista si proiecte extrem de ambitioase: introducerea unei linii interurbane pe ruta Hall in Tirol - Innsbruck - Zirl (Inntalbahn). Poate chiar extindere la Jenbach, respectiv Telfs.

Ne aflam in zona Pauluskirche (Reichenauerstrasse). Aici se bifurca liniile O (pt. Olympisches Dorf) si R (pt. Gumppstrasse).

Technik

Exista o bucla de intoarcere a troleibuzelor. Nu am ajuns sa vad si cea de-a treia ramificatie a traseului "O", Technik West.
